Systems Administration Manager

The Systems Administration Manager position is responsible for the maintenance, development, and performance of Forrest Logistics’ Mercury Gate Transportation Management System (TMS). The TMS Systems Administration Manager will take the lead in the implementation, management, and troubleshooting of key initiatives that drive reliable uptime and performance. This position will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date training documentation while also training TMS users at all levels. Additional responsibilities include user maintenance, security administration, roles/permissions setup, technical support, and carrier onboarding.

Daily Tasks & Responsibilities
- Responsible for TMS configuration, optimization, and training at all levels.
- Provide timely assistance to internal users in resolving TMS system functionality and performance issues.
- Provide solutions for projects and continuous improvement while leveraging TMS system configurations, code tables, and dynamic rulesets (workflow).
- Manage system inter-dependencies and integrations and support system software upgrades through functionality and regression testing. Define, implement, test, and document new technologies to enhance current and future business processes.
- Create business process flow maps, application configuration, system piloting, system and user testing, user training, and integration design and testing with ERP or other upstream or downstream systems.
- Exercise discipline and effective communications in the testing, diagnosing and resolution of issues.
- Communicate effectively across the business and other stakeholders in the organization regarding the problem, solution, and benefit to TMS-enabled workflow and integration.
- Maintain high levels of integrity and dependability while focusing on results, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills, Characteristics & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of logistics or transportation experience.
- Solid experience operating, configuring, and/or integrating transportation management software (TMS) or other supply chain execution application. MercuryGate TMS experience highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent oral and written communication and collaborative interpersonal skills with an ability to establish effective working relationships across multiple groups (team, managed transportation operations, support groups, external customers, carriers, and software vendors).
- Excellent at multi-tasking, prioritizing, organizational and time management skills, problem-solving in the moment, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Business process focus and experience mapping process flows.
- Must have strong leadership qualities and understand and enable team dynamics. Work well in a team environment and effectively manage work activities.
- Be extremely flexible and adaptable. The ability to function and stay focused in constant pressure, fast growing and ever-changing organization.
- Experience using or integrating TMS with ERP, WMS, YMS systems.
- Experience conducting general transportation and data analysis.
- Operational or customer service experience in the transportation industry preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Ability to develop and produce ad-hoc reports from TMS.
- Familiarity with EDI and XML.
- Experience with IT Support ticketing tools.
- Strong aptitude for analysis, troubleshooting, process improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
- A strong sense of personal accountability and a winning attitude.
